Your Body, Their Benefit

The female form deserves to be celebrated, liberated, and enjoyed. My body is my choice, and I will live in my skin freely. However, I refused to be reduced to a sexual object because of the curves I carry. Sexual Objectification occurs when a woman’s body or body parts are singled out and separated from her as a person and she is viewed primarily as a physical object of male sexual desire (Bartky, 1990). Social media plays a huge part in college social life, several accounts have popped up dedicated solely to the booze filled, hazy days of college. Many of these accounts feature girl submitted branded “nudes”, meant to promote their company through bikini bodied babes. Companies like Old Row, Top Tier, Raging Mammoth, and Barstool Sports count on girls stripping down to bring up their bottom line. These companies are setting a dangerous precedent for young women and young men alike. Minimize || Ep. 1 The Room

This is a new little series I’m starting so you can follow along with me while I go through the daunting process of simplifying and minimizing the amount of clutter in my life. ●●●☽✰☾●●●   Everything you own takes up space in your life. From the paper clip collecting dust under your bed to your favorite vintage tee on proud display in your closet. The problem with all of this is that there is only so much time, and room in your life for all of this “stuff”, and the more you collect, the less room you have in your life for other things. The dress you hate because it doesn’t fit anymore, the english paper you got a C on, all of those negative memories that are bound within the fabric of the object itself are constantly surrounding you…weighing you down. July Favorites

July went by in a whirlwind. I had many new experiences that left me urning for more. More adventure, more growth, more craziness are all welcome into my little corner of the world. I got a job, I turned 19, I launched a website, I started freelance web designing, I WENT TO FREAKING ITALY (full recap of that adventure coming soon)! It’s hard to believe you can cram so many wonderful experiences into such a short amount of time, but somehow I feel as though that wasn’t enough. This is just the tip of the iceburg for me. In a month as hectic as this, I was bound to fall in love with a few new things. These favorites reflect the wonderful, craziness that July brought my way. Peaches- It’s getting to the point where it’s obnoxious how much I love any and all things peach related. In Italy is was peach gelato, peach juice, peach soda, and my personal favorite flat peaches.
