This weekend, make a promise to do something kind for yourself.  Below are some self-care practices and rituals that work for me, use these self-care practices frequently and with intention. Also remember to find what works for you, and linger in the process of self-discovery. Dry Brushing- This invigorating ritual stimulates the lymphatic system* (speeding up the process of eliminating metabolic waste from the body), increases blood circulation, releases toxins and exfoliates dead skin. For the last few years, open-mindedness has become all the rage, “hype”, fashionable, and something everyone wants to be – or at least appear to be. All over social media, people are presenting themselves as accepting, open to everyone + everything. I’ve met so many people claiming to be open-minded. It’s a quality we all aspire to have. But on touchy topics, like political conflicts, veganism, or even art, a few of us are actually willing to listen to people with opposing views and opinions. When I realized that, I asked myself : am I really open-minded ? I started to think about it, and to question what “open-mindedness” really is. Life is undoubtably crazy, and sometimes it can feel impossible trying not to lose yourself in all the madness. You’ve got to learn how to cope with all the stress, and find a way to smile through the rough patches. I’ve had my ups and downs, but here are some of the things I try to do to keep my ups higher and my lows at bay. Be Grateful. When I wake up in the morning, it isn’t long before my mind kicks back into high gear, and I can feel my anxiety levels rising as the tasks of the day ahead begin to pile up into seemly unclimbable mountains.
